Fox & Fox are a boutique producer of English Sparkling wines, cultivating 30 acres of classic champagne varieties. The Vineyards sit either side of the ancient hilltop village of Mayfield, amongst the rolling hills, woodlands and deep-cut ghylls of the Sussex High Weald. They are surrounded by bluebell woods in springtime and over-flown by Buzzards, Red Kites and other hawks in summer.  This beautiful site represents the unique Sussex countryside at its best.  The vineyard are planted with the classic Champagne varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with additional small plantings of Pinot Gris.

The vineyard was planted in 2004 and they have been producing wines since 2009.  I had the opportunity to taste 7 different cuvées and the quality and consistency of the wines left me speechless!  The emphasis is on minimal intervention in the vineyard & light manipulation in the winery.  The production levels are minuscule, as huge attention is taken to getting perfect fruit to the winery.

"Tradition is our take on the classic Blanc de Noirs style, made with minimal intervention in the winery to let all the fruit speak for itself.

Tradition 2014 is a winner of both Decanter Platinum & Sommelier Wine Awards Gold medals

Tasting Notes and Scores

Reviewer Score Notes
Decanter World Wine Awards 2019 97 - Awarded Platinum Medal Lovely creamy aromas balanced with aromatic strawberry notes. Great palate of fragrant stewed strawberries, red cherry & a hint of sour rhubarb. Long, profound length, with minerality adding to the complexity.
